The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized six kg of ganja (marijuana) from them.

The accused, Mohammed Hameed (26) and Rangaswami (30), both from the city, were arrested when they were trying to sell the substance near a bakery on Pipeline Road in Hampinagar.

The police said the duo used to source the marijuana from a Ramanagaram resident and sell it in the city.

Illegal LPG trade

The Fraud and Misappropriation squad of the Central Crime Branch raided a gas agency at Anand Reddy Building on Bommanahalli Road, Maruthi Layout, Devarachikkanahalli, and arrested Ranganath (23), who was stocking LPG cylinders illegally and selling them to consumers at hiked up rates in Madiwala police station limits.

The police seized 54 LPG cylinders, including 48 domestic and six commercial from the premises.

Chain-snatching

Two unidentified motorcyclists fled away after snatching a 30-gm gold chain belonging to Madhavilata (38), a resident of Chandapura, who was returning home after shopping on Thursday night.
