HUBLI: The former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda has said that only non-Congress governments could ensure that development projects are implemented in Karnataka.

He was addressing farmers at Navalgund on Wednesday after paying tributes to the farmers who died in police firing during the ‘Nargund Bandaya’.

Mr. Deve Gowda said that it was only during the tenure of non-Congress governments that plenty of developmental activities had taken in place in Karnataka.

Listing out the programmes taken up by the Janata Dal (S)-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition Government in the State, he said he was not happy with the ceiling fixed by the Government for the waiver of loans taken by farmers. He appealed to the farmers to support the JD(S).
