Kolar: Kolar district remained peaceful barring a few incidents of forcible closure of Central Government offices and a stray incident of road blockade in the wake of the verdict of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

Janata Dal (S) workers forced the authorities at the BSNL office and head post office here to close. Kannada organisations took out a silent march in Kolar.

Kalavidha Vishnu, president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike criticised the tribunal for allegedly favouring Tamil Nadu. He urged the State Government to take steps to safeguard the interests of farmers of the State.

Various pro-Kannada organisations took out a protest march in Gowribidanur, Gudibanda, Malur and other parts.
