BANGALORE: Employees of Toyota Kirloskar company were arrested for violating prohibitory orders by assembling near the office of the Labour Secretary in the Multi-storeyed building on Saturday.

According to the police, around 700 employees stormed the office of the Labour Secretary demanding that the latter issue directions to the company's management to fulfil their demands.

The employees marched to the office after holding a meeting in Bannappa Park.

The police who came to the Labour Secretary's office asked the protesters to disperse as the area is within 500 metres from the Vidhana Soudha.

The police have imposed prohibitory orders around Vidhana Soudha to prevent protests in the area.

When the employees refused to disperse, the police arrested them.

The protesters were taken to the City Armed Reserve (South) premises and later released on bail.
