BANGALORE: Tough action awaits teachers who have made grave errors in evaluation and totalling of SSLC answer scripts, resulting in several discrepancies in the results. While suspension orders had been issued to two people who had made mistakes in totalling, notices were being served on all evaluators found to have made mistakes.
They stand to lose their increments and would be barred from supplementary evaluation.
Applications made by students for re-evaluation and re-totalling after the SSLC results were announced had exposed many cases of errors.
According to sources in the Education Department, while action would be taken against those making mistakes in totalling in first phase, those who made mistakes in evaluation would be tackled in second phase.
“The two evaluators who face suspension have more than 20 years of experience,” said the source. He said computer problems could not be blamed for the error.
