Residents of Jiyara and Kottanahalli, on periphery of the Nagarhole National Park in Heggadadevanakote taluk, spotted a tiger in a sugarcane field on Friday morning.

According to reports reaching here, pug marks were found in the field when the forest authorities launched a combing operation. The tiger is suspected to have strayed from the national park as the villages are close to the Metikuppe forest range.
