Bangalore: Three women, including a doctor, were robbed of their gold chains in separate incidents in the city since Tuesday.

Poornima Dinesh was returning home after visiting her ailing sister late on Tuesday night. When she reached the volleyball ground at Girinagar, an unidentified man jumped in front of her two-wheeler and threatened to hit her with a stone. The man then snatched her gold chain weighing 65 gm before pushing her aside, snatching her two-wheeler, and speeding away. Dr. Poornima, who was left high and dry, later lodged a complaint with the police.

In another incident, two men on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain from a woman in Rajajinagar on Wednesday. Shanthamma, aged around 45, was returning home after going to Modi eye hospital. The duo sped away after snatching the gold chain weighing 10 gm.

A few hours later in Mahalakshmi Layout, when Lakshmi Joshi was returning home after picking up her son from school, a motorcycle-borne duo tried to snatch her gold chain. Though Lakshmi held onto her chain and raised an alarm, the duo managed to snatch a part of the chain weighing 15 gm.
