Three persons, including two from the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI), filed their nomination papers as Independents here on Saturday.

D. Nagalakshmi and A. Devadas of the SUCI filed three sets of nomination papers to contest from Bellary City and Bellary Rural (reserved for the Scheduled Tribes) constituencies respectively.

The two contestants, along with supporters from SUCI, came in a procession to the place where they had to file nomination papers.

The third nomination was submitted at Hagaribommanahalli, reserved for the Scheduled Castes.

However, no nomination paper was filed in the other six Assembly constituencies.
