BANGALORE: Three persons, including a 15-year-old boy, committed suicide in the city on Sunday night.

Kumar (15), an 8 {+t} {+h} standard student, hanged himself to death from the ceiling of his bedroom in Marenahalli 7 {+t} {+h} Main in Jayanagar police station limits.

The police said Kumar was depressed after his brother sold his pet pigeon. He locked his bedroom and hanged himself to death.

Hariprasad (39) committed suicide in his flat in R.K. Layout in Padmanabha Nagar. According to Banashankari police, Hariprasad was suffering from an ailment and had returned from hospital a week ago. On Sunday evening he sent his wife to a grocery shop. When she returned, Hariprasad was found hanging from the ceiling of his bedroom, the police said.

Prakash (28), a cook, was found hanging from the ceiling of his house in Ittamadu in Channammanakere Achchkattu police station limits. The police said Prakash's wife was visiting her relative at the time of incident. When she returned on Sunday evening, foul smell was emanating from the house. She took the help of her neighbours and broke open the door. The reason for the suicide is not known, the police said.

Taken away

Two armed men threatened the members of a family at a house in Manorayanapalya on Sunday night and took away Rs. 6,700 in cash and three mobile phones. The two entered the house of Anupchand around midnight and threatened his family members with machetes before decamping with the cash and the mobile phones.
