The Yenepolya School will conduct a “Ganitotsva” (Mathematics fest) on November 22 and 23 to coincide with the 125{+t}{+h}birth anniversary of mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan.

Students from schools and PU colleges in and around Mangalore will take part in the programme that includes an inter-school mathematics quiz for high school students on Thursday. Two two-member teams can participate from each school. Six best teams will go to the final.

There will be an inter-collegiate Mathematics Presentation Contest for pre-university students and CBSE or ICSE class 11 and 12 students on Friday. One student can participate from one institution. The student has to make the presentation in five minutes and face an interactive round with the judges.  The topics are paradoxes in mathematics; application of mathematics in science and technology; squaring the circle: Ramanujan’s constructions; and on Ramanujan’s number 1729.

A session on “problem solving techniques” will be held by Prof. Yogananda for students and teachers and an inter-school and inter-college book review contest for teachers on the book R.K. Narayan's English Teacher .

A book exhibition with a special corner for books on mathematics is organised.
