It is time for all Bangaloreans to put on the running shoes and gear up for the World 10K Run on May 19 from the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
More than 24,000 people are expected to take part in eight events.
Urging Bangaloreans to go for it, comedian Vasu Primalani said at a press conference earlier in the week that we can easily cover more distance by running rather than getting stuck at traffic jams. “Running is not boring. I looked it up and found out that nobody has ever fallen asleep by running,” she said.
Puneeth to take part
Actor Puneeth Rajkumar, the face of the event, who was not allowed to run freely last year thanks to his fan following, said that he has resolved to run this year.
N. Ganapathy Subramaniam, president of TCS Financial Solutions said, “We at TCS believe that athleticism and running is the key thing to promote lifestyle, teamwork and get people together.”
Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) M.A. Saleem said: “Last year, I had my doubts about people turning up for the event but 25,000 people turned up. This time I will make sure that we are prepared for an even bigger number.”
The run is being organised by TCS in collaboration with Procam International Limited.
