Jerryton Dias, writer and producer of the Konkani film The Victim, said that it would be released in Goa, Karnataka, and Maharashtra where there were Konkani-speaking people.
Mr. Dias told presspersons here on Wednesday that this was the first theatrical film in Goa to be made using Canon EOS 7D cameras. It was an experimental step for larger cinema, to bring forth technology with art to a presentable quality, meeting international standards. The film would be released in Goa, Karwar, Mangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur in the second week of July, he said.
Mr. Dias said that for the first time in the history of Goa and Konkani films, a woman music director, Anna Rebelo-E-Gomes, has scored music for the film. The entire post-production is being done in Goa under D and A Productions, Vasco.
It is the only Konkani film to be released on UFO and SCRABBLE, all over, he said.
He said that this motion picture The Victim had been made under the banner of Diason’s Ventures. Although many movies were shot in Goa, this was the first Konkani movie to be shot there. He said The Victim was a commercial movie with a message.
The movie was an effort to distinguish between love and lust. The younger generation did not think while selecting life partners which went on to affect their children.
The movie had depicted it, Mr Dias said. Milroy Goes, Director of the film, said he was affiliated to the Film Craft Federation under Indian Motion Pictures. Mr. Goes is known for his direction in short films, music videos, and ad films. He has worked on an ad film projecting Brett Lee.
Known for casting Bollywood actors in his short film Expect The Unexpected and a directorial debut in The Victim, Mr. Goes lauded the efforts of Mr. Dias and said that he was a talented actor, writer, singer, and musician. He is the man behind the vision of making theatrical film in Goan Cinema, he said.
The team members said that Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa, has assured full support to the production team. Prajakta Biliye, who acted in the movie Cajetan Baptista, and Roshan Fernandes were present.
