The menace of illegal flex boards, cut-outs and posters in cities echoed in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Ramesh Kumar (Congress) said they were all-pervasive regardless of the existence of the Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfiguration) Act, 1981.

When Mr. Ramesh Kumar cautioned the newly-elected Deputy Speaker Shivashankar Reddy N.H. of the possibility of his supporters putting up cut-outs alongside his (Mr. Reddy’s) portrait, Mr. Reddy admitted that some cut-outs “wishing him” were already in place.

Leader of the Opposition H.D. Kumaraswamy joined in saying those involved in embezzlement of funds in the urban development authorities of Channarayapatna and Ramanagaram had put up flex boards with their photographs alongside Ministers.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said that he would reply on the issue on Friday.
