Abdul Karim Telgi, the prime accused in the multi-crore stamp paper scam, was taken for a health check-up to Victoria Hospital here on Friday.
Central prison authorities described the exercise as routine as he is suffering from various health problems. “He has been suffering from several neurological problems, kidney problems and has high blood pressure and is also diabetic. Apart from that, he is also taking anti retro viral (ARV) drugs,” an official said, adding that he was back in jail by afternoon.
Telgi has been cooling his heels in the Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara for several years now.
