As many as 32,000 elderly people in Bangalore suffer from Alzheimer's disease, which is the main cause of dementia.

The lack of services provided for this disorder is telling.

To overcome this, the Nightingales Centre for Ageing and Alzheimer's (NCAA) launched a unique programme, Tele-Dementia Care, on NCAA's first anniversary.

Inaugurating the service, K. Kasturirangan, member of the Planning Commission, said the unique dream of tele-dementia care was now a reality.
