Karnataka Rajya Vijnana Parishath, in association with Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, will organise a district-level technical festival titled “Tech Uthkarsha – 2012” on the institute premises at Moodlakatte near Kundapur on November 17.

B.R. Samaga, director of the institute, told presspersons here that the festival had been divided into three categories: “Innovations Unlimited”, “In Quiz-itors” and “Paperazzi”.

Under the “Innovations Unlimited” category, four students from the same college would complete a project using innovative ideas.

In the paper presentation competition, “Paperazzi”, a team of two students would represent a college.

Students would have to answer technology-related questions in the quiz competition, wherein a college could enter two students.

The institute had approached 150 pre-university colleges in the district. Nearly 700 students were expected to participate in the festival.

‘Motivating students’

The aim was to motivate the students to take to technical innovations, and to promote scientific and creative thinking in them.

The institute would hold similar district-level technical festivals in Shimoga on November 27 and in Kumta in Uttara Kannada district on December 5, according to Dr. Samaga.

Parishath’s district unit president U.R. Madhyastha, co-ordinator Dinesh Shettigar and institute principal S.S. Rao were present.
