‘Teachers play vital role in shaping children’s future’

SHIMOGA: Minister for Water Resources K.S. Eshwarappa emphasised the role of teachers in shaping the future of children, here on Wednesday.

He was speaking at the Teachers’ Day function organised jointly by the district administration, Teachers’ Day Celebration Committee, Department of Public Instruction and the Block Education Office.

The primary school teachers who were felicitated by the Minister were A.S. Shailaja, N. Thimmaiah, Gangadharaiah, H.H. Basavarajappa, Naga Naik and L. Shanmukhappa.

In the secondary school section, those felicitated include K.V. Lakshminarayan Bhat of Nisrani in Sorab taluk; M. Mahadevappa of Byakodu of Sagar taluk; Honnappa of Koddoru in Tirthahalli taluk; Ramesh of Shimoga and Revanasiddappa of Shikaripur.

Special honour was given to Gurumurthy of Shimoga, T.L. Subraya of Anaveri in Bhadravati taluk, S. Rudresh N.D. Hegde, Parameshwarappa, S.B. Banakar, Vinodabai, H. Nagendrappa, Subramanya Bhat, H.M. Leelavathi and D.P. Ravikumar.
