SHIMOGA: President of the Karnataka State Secondary School Teachers' Association and former MLC K.C. Puttasiddhashetty said here on Friday that his association had extended its support to Capt. Ganesh Karnik, who is contesting as Bharatiya Janata Party candidate in the coming election to the State Legislative Council from the South West Registered Teachers' Constituency.

Addressing a press conference here, he took objection to Janata Dal (Secular) candidate Vagish using the logo of the association and names of its office-bearers for his campaign. He claimed that Mr. Vagish was not a member of the association.

He said that the decision of his association to support the BJP candidate was taken in appreciation of the party's efforts in ameliorating the condition of teachers.
