With a resolve of keeping Mysore city clean during the Dasara, a special task force and a helpline will be on the job for 10 days.

The teams constituted by the Dasara cleanliness subcommittee will take up cleanliness after receiving calls on the helpline numbers — 0821-2418800/2418816 or 9449841196. The task force comprises 250 pourakarmikas of the Mysore City Corporation (MCC). It will be assisted by an environmental engineer and a doctor, and will work in three shifts.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, subcommittee president B.J. Vijay Kumar said the ‘Shramadhan’ will be held at Chamundi Hills here on Thursday as a prelude to the cleanliness drive. Minister in-charge of Mysore district V. Sreenivas Prasad will inaugurate it.

A ‘jatha’ will be taken out here by over 500 students to spread the message of keeping the city clean during Dasara.

On the same day at 3 p.m., an interaction with environmentalist and actor Suresh Heblikar will be held at Maharaja College centenary hall. The cleanliness drive will be launched at Devaraja Market on October 4 at 8.30 a.m. Also, an awareness rally on cleanliness will be held on October 7 at 9 a.m.
