Raichur: Hampaiah Naik, Manvi MLA, has urged the Government to direct the District Health and Family Welfare Department to maintain proper records of dengue cases and take steps to tackle the disease. He told The Hindu on Thursday that though dengue was spreading fast in rural areas, the officials were not maintaining proper records of dengue cases. There were reports that a person from Jalapur Camp had died of dengue in Hyderabad.

On inquiry, he found that two more persons from the camp died of dengue last month. He said after verifying the case he asked Sharanappa Tuntapur, health officer, to take steps to tackle dengue in Jalapur Camp.
