President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Scheduled Caste Cell N. Manjunath and the former Minister R.G. Thimmapur have demanded that the State government table the A.J. Sadashiva Commission report in the State legislature.

They told presspersons here on Wednesday that Minister for Kannada and Culture Govind Karjol and Social Welfare Minister A. Narayanaswamy should resign for their “failure” to protect Dalits, who were lathi-charged on Tuesday. The KPCC leaders condemned the police action and demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident. Mr. Thimmapur said the Chief Minister owed an answer not just to the lathi-charge but also to the government’s stand on the Sadashiva panel report. Mr. Manjunath said the KPCC SC Cell would organise its first divisional-level convention of party workers in Hubli in January.
