SHIMOGA: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said here on Tuesday that a super specialty high-tech hospital, with the private participation, would be opened here to ensure better health services to the people.
He was speaking after inaugurating the “Arogya Kavacha” programme.
He added that the Government had evolved several programmes to offer better quality healthcare to the people in rural as well as urban areas.
He said that the “Arogya Kavacha” was launched with a view to provide emergency medical service to the common man, who would get its services within fifteen minutes, after dialling phone number 108.
Mr. Yeddyurappa said it was proposed to press 517 ambulances into service under the Arogya Kavacha programme, at the ratio of one van for 10,000 people.
The Minister for Energy K.S. Eshwarappa, who spoke at the occasion, said that the doctors commanded the respect of the people only if they rendered service humanly.
