GULBARGA: The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) will organise its second all-India party congress from November 11 to 15 in New Delhi. An open session will be held on November 17 at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.
State committee member of SUCI H.V. Diwakar told presspersons here on Thursday that the congress was being held 21 years after the first one in Kolkatta in 1988. Besides the delegates from 22 States, fraternal delegates from 16 countries would participate in the congress.
Mr. Diwakar said the second party congress was being held at a time when the country was at the “crossroads” in the wake of globalisation, liberalisation and privatisation.
The congress would discuss such issues and chalk-out a detailed action plan for launching people’s movement to reverse the economic policies of the country. The so called Left parties supported the liberalisation and privatisation policies of the Government. The Congress and the BJP were responsible for leading the country to economic chaos, Mr. Diwakar alleged. There will be a State conference of SUCI in Bangalore on October 10 and 11.
