Developing a sense of fraternity among fellow beings is the time-tested tool to ensure communal harmony, educationist Abdul Quadeer said here on Friday.

He was speaking at the National Integration Day programme organised by the Department of Minorities Development and Shaheen Education Society. He urged students to discard prejudices about caste and community and form friendly relations with people from all sections. Block Education Officer Suryakant Madane, Karnataka Urdu Teachers' Association president Akthar Ahmed Khan and others were present. Earlier, Deputy Director of Public Instruction Anjaneya Reddy planted a sapling to mark the celebrations.

Students and teachers marched in a procession from the government pre-university college to the Ranga Mandira.
