MANGALORE: Films shot by students of St. Aloysius College for "Shooting Stars 2007," a festival of short films, will be screened on Saturday. Ten films will be screened in the competitive section and four documentaries in the non-competition section of the festival.

Richard Rego, Head of the Department of Journalism, told presspersons here on Friday that the aim of the festival, now in its second year, was to complement the student's theoretical learning with practical experience. The films to be screened in the competition section are "Bhramid" and "Jivith" in Konkani; "Sankalp" in Hindi; "Darpana," "Who is a Friend?," "I am not an Island," "Just Another Day," "Life is Beautiful" and "Roll of the Role" in English, and "Naanu" in Kannada.

The documentaries in non-competition section are "A Day Out in the Sea Trawler Fishing," "Conflict Zones," "Everybody Says But Nobody Does" and "Where's the Road?"
