A young Delhi student, pursuing her BBM course here, died when she came under the wheels of a Tamil Nadu Road Transport Corporation bus at Roopena Agrahara on Hosur Road here on Sunday night.
Madivala traffic police said that Vinitha (22) was riding pillion along with her friend Aman, who is also from New Delhi, on his motorcycle.
They were going towards the Silk Board Junction from Bommanahalli for dinner.
“The bus hit the motorcycle when Aman tried to switch lanes,” said the police, quoting eyewitnesses.
While Aman survived with injuries, Vinitha died on the spot. Both Aman and Vinitha were residing on the college premises.
A huge quantity of scrap material and six sewing machines were destroyed in two fire accidents here on Monday. No injuries were reported.
