BANGALORE: A 23-year-old MBA student was killed in a road accident here on Monday.

Hemalatha from T. John College was run over by a lorry near Philips office on Bannerghatta Road.

According to MICO Layout Traffic police, Hemalatha, a resident of Ulsoor, was returning on her two-wheeler after writing her examination paper.

The lorry that was coming towards the city hit the two-wheeler, and Hemalatha fell off her vehicle.

Hemalatha was run over by the lorry and she died on the spot.

Two killed

A business management student died and his classmate was injured after their motorcycle met with an accident near Bangalore International Airport in Devanahalli around 4.30 a.m. on Sunday. The two were heading towards to Nandi Hills to watch the sunrise when the accident occurred.

The police identified the dead as M. Jithendra (21) and the injured as C. Chandan (21). Both were students of MS Ramaiah Institute of Management at M.S. Ramaiah Nagar here. They are natives of Bihar and staying in a rented room near the college.

According to the police, both were going to the hill station. They had coffee at a coffee outlet at the airport around 4.15 a.m. and continued their ride. The rider, Jithendra, while negotiating a curve, lost control of the vehicle and rammed a caution board near a traffic circle, said an officer at the Devanahalli Airport traffic police station.

Both fell on the road and sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to a private hospital near Hebbal Lake in Bangalore.
