Belgaum: Minister for Horticulture Shashikant A. Naik has called upon teachers to strive hard to shape the future of those studying in rural areas.

He also paid rich tributes to educationist and the former President Sarvapalli Radhakrishna on the occasion of Teachers’ Day here on Wednesday.

Teachers played a significant role in not only imparting education to the students but also shaping the future and destiny of the nation.

The function was jointly organised by the Belgaum Zilla Panchayat and Department of Public Instruction.

Deputy Commissioner M.E. Shivalingamurthy, Belgaum Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer N. Prabhakar and Deputy Director of Public Instruction S. Jayakumar were present on the occasion.
