A State-level dog show will be held under the aegis of Shivamogga Kennel Club at National Education Society (NES) ground here on December 16, N. Rajendra Kamath, president of the club, said.

Deputy Chief Minister K.S. Eshwarappa will inaugurate the event at 9 a.m. Secretary of NES S.V. Thimmaiah, Dean of College of Veterinary Sciences Devaraj, and Secretary of Shimoga District Working Journalists Association Suryanarayan would take part in the inaugural ceremony. Veterinary doctor O.S. Prakash and snake expert Kiran would be felicitated on the occasion, he said at a press conference in the city on Wednesday.

More than 250 dogs were expected to take part in the event.

A demonstration from sniffer dogs of the Department of Police had been organised to mark the occasion, he said.

The Best Handlers Award would be presented for the pet owners in senior and in junior category.
