Bangalore: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday said he would lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi on November 5 to urge the Union Government to accord classical tag to Kannada and amend Article 371 of the Constitution for conferring special status on the Hyderabad-Karnataka region.

Speaking to presspersons, he said that all members of Parliament, MLAs and MLCs along with their leaders would leave Bangalore on November 4. They would meet the Central leaders and impress upon them the urgent need to accept the State’s demands.

Mr. Yeddyurappa admitted Shahajahan Dongargoan, former Congress MLA from Athani, into the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that Mr. Dongargoan had accepted the party’s ideology and programmes.
