BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Government Employees’ Federation will stage a dharna in front of the Multi-Storeyed Building here on January 19 in support of its 18-point charter of demands.

Announcing this at a press conference in Bangalore on Wednesday, federation president U.D. Narasimhaiah said the protest was being staged in response to a call from the All-India State Governments Employees’ Federation. Among the demands are allocation of a major portion of tax collection to States by the Centre to help bring about pay parity, increasing the House Rent Allowance in Bangalore in tune with its A-1 city status and other areas of the State.
