BANGALORE: A large number of dignitaries and people from the cinema industry visited the residence of actor Vishnuvardhan as well as the National College grounds to have a last glimpse of the departed actor on Wednesday.
The body was brought to his Bangalore residence from Mysore at around 6 a.m.
Early visitors included Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and his Cabinet colleagues, Lok Sabha Member H.N. Ananth Kumar, the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, actors Ambareesh, Sreenath, Raghavendra Raj Kumar, Shiv Raj Kumar, Puneet Raj Kumar, Ravichandran, Jaggesh, Prakash Rai, Anu Prabhakar, Sudeep, Sumalatha, Tara, Jai Jagadish, Shruti, Dwarakish, Ananth Nag, music directors Hamsalekha and V. Manohar, Master Hirannaiah and tele serial director T.N. Seetharam.
Later, the body was shifted to the National College grounds in an open vehicle to allow the fans to take a glimpse of the star. The convoy passed through Janata Complex, Canara Bank Road, Armugam Circle, Gunasheela Nursing Home and K.R. Road, and people gathered on both sides of the road to get a closer look.
The entire Basavanagudi area was overflowing with thousands of fans by afternoon.
Those who visited the National College grounds included Governor H.R. Bhardwaj, Legislative Council Chairman Veeranna Mathikati, Congress leaders R.V. Deshpande, Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shiva Kumar, the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, H.D. Revanna, singer S.P. Balasubramanyam, actors Sharath Kumar, Devaraj, Suhasini, Arjun Sarja, Doddanna, Upendra, Jaimala, Jayanthi, Saroja Devi, Leelavathi, Ramesh Bhat, Shivaram, Rajanikanth ancd Chiranjeevi.
