He will inaugurate Suvarna Gramodaya project on February 25

GULBARGA: The Suvarna Gramodaya project aimed at improving basic amenities in 1,012 villages in the State will be launched by President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at Srinivas Saradgi village on February 25.

According to the President's tour itinerary released on Thursday, Dr. Kalam will be arrive by an Air Force Helicopter from Bidar on February 25 at 3.10 p.m.

Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa will receive him at the temporary helipad at Srinivas Saradgi.

After launching the Suvarna Gramodaya project, the President will inaugurate several other development projects taken up in Srinvas Saradgi and inaugurate an exhibition of development works taken up under the Suvarna Gramodaya project.

Later, the President will address a gathering and leave for Bidar on his way to New Delhi.

Prominent among others who will participate in the function are Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister C.M. Udasi.

Prior to the President's address, Mr. Kmaraswamy, Mr. Yediyurappa, Mr. Singh, and Mr. Udasi will address the gathering.

Srinivas Saradgi is being decked up for receiving the President.

More than 200 NSS volunteers from different colleges and local non-governmental organisations have taken up "shramdhan."

Many officials are camping in Srinivas Saradgi village to supervise road improvement work.
