Cricketer Javagal Srinath and international athlete Reeth Abraham will be here on September 25 to attend the World Heart Day Run 2011 organised by Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Ambedkar Circle.

Mr. Srinath will be the celebrity guest and Ms. Abraham will be the torch-bearer for the run which will be flagged off at KMC, Bejai at 7.30 a.m., according to a release by Sunil Deshpande, senior vice president Operations and Medical Superintendent, KMC Hospital, Mangalore. Mr. Srinath, current match referee of the International Cricket Council and Secretary, Karnataka State Cricket Association, and Ms. Abraham will be felicitated at the KMC, Ambedkar Circle, at 8.45 a.m. at the valedictory of the run, the release said. World Heart Federation has marked September 29 as the World Heart Day. The KMC Hospital will conduct an in-house awareness programme on that day.

It will organise the run on September 25 ahead of the World Heart Day. The run will pass through Lalbagh, PVS Circle, Bunts Hostel Circle, and reach KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle. There will be prizes for participants for the best corporate participation, best institution participation, best placard, best slogan shouting, and youngest and eldest participant who run or walk through the stretch.

Winners of the drawing competition that was conducted on September 10 at KMC Hospital, Attavar, will be given away prizes at the valedictory programme.

The hospital will conduct a special awareness programme on heart and health at City Centre Mall on September 24 at 5.30 p.m.
