The National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NITTTR), Chennai, and Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysore, jointly organised an international workshop on ‘Development of e-resources for engineering education' at the college here on Monday.

Nearly 100 people, including representatives from Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Mauritius participated in the programme.

The workshop aims at providing a suitable forum for designing and developing educational videos for engineering education and using open source tools for library management.

Technical sessions included instruction design for educational film production, recent trends in library management, documentary filmmaking, developing and maintaining repositories of educational videos in libraries, and transmission of videos. The organisers urged teachers to equip themselves with the skills to develop their own videos.

The former Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University K. Chidananda Gowda, SJCE principal B.G. Sangameshwara, director of NITTTR S. Mohan, associate professor at NITTTR E.S.M. Suresh, and senior librarian at NITTTR Ravichandran were among those present.
