BANGALORE: The South Western Railway will run three pairs of special trains on August 23, 25 and 28 from Bangalore to Ernakulam and on August 24, 26 and 28 between Ernakulam and Bangalore to clear extra rush during the Onam festival.
Train No. 637 will leave Bangalore City on August 23 at 5.45 p.m. and reach Ernakulam at 6.15 a.m. the next day; train No. 643 leaves Bangalore on August 25 at 5.15 p.m. to reach Ernakulam at 4.30 a.m. the next day and Train No. 654 leaves Bangalore on August 28 at 5.45 p.m. to reach Ernakulam at 6.15 a.m. the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 638 will leave Ernakulam on August 24 at 5 p.m. to reach Bangalore at 4.20 a.m. the next day; train No. 644 will leave Ernakulam on August 26 at 9.20 p.m. to reach Bangalore at 9.45 a.m. the next day and train No. 655 will leave Ernakulam on August 29 at 8.30 p.m. to reach Bangalore at 8.35 am the next day.
The trains from Bangalore will run via Bangalore Cantonment, Krishnarajapuram, Whitefield, Bangarpet, Tirupathur, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Podanur, Palakkad, Ottapalam, Shoranur, Thrissur and Alwaye to reach Ernakulam.
They will have a composition of two 2-tier AC coaches, two 3-tier AC coaches, 11 second class sleeper coaches, two general second class coaches and two second class sitting-cum-luggage vans.
