While the general pass percentage of SSLC and PU students has been low, the results of some schools and colleges in Bidar district have left plenty of room for hope.
All students at the Bidar-based Saraswati Education Society's School and Sri Channabasaveshwar Gurukul Residential School in Bhalki have passed the SSLC exam. Of the 123 Saraswati School students who appeared for the exam, 30 passed with distinction and 79 with first class. Jagadish Sharanappa, Shantkumar Shivakumar, Pooja Vinod, Vinod Bhojraj, Shailaja Shivakumar, Ambarish Bichchappa, Shalini Srinivas, Sidrameshwar Basavaraj, Ashwini Rajappa, Allapure Sangamesh, Shivaputra Sangashetty, Pallavi Baburao and Sudharani Vijaykumar scored over 90 per cent.
At the Gurukul, 79 of 162 students passed with distinction, and 63 with first class. Shruti Karbari secured 98.4 per cent and Sudhir Rajkumar 98.08 per cent. Abhayprakash Rajole Togalur, Pooja Kashinath, Aishwarya Dattatreya and Raghavendra Nelagi scored above 90 per cent. Of the students who appeared for the SSLC exam at the Guru Nanak Dev Public School in Bidar, 97 per cent passed. Veeranna Kurakunda, Ravina Telang and Mohammad Yaseer Iftiyar secured distinctions and 47 passed with first class.
In the SSLC exam, 93.75 per cent of the students of Ideal Public School in Basavakalyan passed.
The Shaheen PU College in Bidar achieved a pass percentage of 92. Of the 127 students of Urdu medium, 16 got distinctions and 69 passed with first class. Five of the 16 Kannada-medium students passed with first class, while 12 of the 138 English medium students got distinctions and 82 passed with first class.
Sai Gnyan PU College in Bidar has become one of the nine unaided colleges in the State to achieve a pass percentage of 100 in the PU exam. While 19 students passed with distinction, 133 passed with first class. Shruti Bhavikatti, Rajesh Munigal and Eshali Sindhol scored over 90 per cent.
Channabasaveshwar Gurukul PU College has achieved a pass percentage of 98.48. Hanumagonda Naganagonda, Praveen Ramesh, and Balaji Pandharinath scored above 90 per cent.
Two students of Guru Nanak Dev PU College got distinctions while 100 passed with first class. The college achieved a pass percentage of 83.33.
Two students of Gyansudha School in Bidar passed with distinction, and three with first class in the PU exam. The school had provided free boarding to female students from villages, according to the school society president. Shri Manik Prabhu Composite Pre-University College in Humnabad achieved a pass percentage of 57.14. Mohammad Shoaib secured 71.1 per cent in the exam, according to a release.
