In Statewide raids by the Lokayukta police on Thursday, assets disproportionate to known sources of income of six officials and a member of the Chamarajanagar Town Municipal Corporation were unearthed.

In all, the sleuths raided 21 places in Bangalore, Bijapur, Chamarajanagar, Davangere, Ranibennur, Kolar, Mulbagal and Mysore.

The search was yet to be completed. The raids, which started at 6 a.m., were conducted at nine places in Bangalore.

A posse of Lokayukta officials swooped down on the residence of the Chamarajanagar TMC member Nanjundswamy and his brother Krishnamurthy at 6 a.m.

Documents pertaining to movable and immovable properties have been seized from their residence. A sum of Rs. 3.44 lakh and 490 grams of gold were also recovered.

In the raid on two premises owned by National Highways Authority Executive Engineer L. Raghu, Lokayukta officials seized documents of two houses owned by him at RPC Layout and Magadi Road in Bangalore together worth Rs. 56.6 lakh besides a commercial complex in Dasarahalli worth Rs. 76.87 lakh, three sites in Bangalore and another in Mysore.

Apart from this, they have found 2.7 kg of gold, 20 kg of silver and three cars.

At the residence of Chief Accounts Officer of Bijapur Zilla Panchayat Vijayanama Maralingappa Chour, the officials discovered documents pertaining to 13 acres, two plots, two houses in Bijapur and 1.5 kg of gold worth nearly Rs. 50 lakh.

The officials found assets worth Rs. 72.37 lakh at the residence of K.V. Subramanyam, a revenue inspector and personal assistant to Mulbagal legislator Amaresh.

While they found assets worth Rs. 82.54 lakh at the residence of S. Ujinappa, Executive Officer of Taluk Panchayat, Ranebennur Taluk, Haveri, they found assets worth Rs. 1.03 crore at the residence of M. Ravindra Kumar, a Junior Engineer of Kolar Zilla Panchayat at Mulbagal.

The officials found assets worth Rs. 37.67 lakh at the residence of Srikanta, a Panchayat Development Officer of T.M. Hosur village panchayat in Srirangapatna taluk in Mandya district.
