Bangalore: Six persons, including three students, were killed in five road accidents here in the past 24 hours.

Two management students from the city, riding a modified motorcycle, died when they lost control over it, fell on the road and were run over by a car near Kengal Bridge in Channapatna, on Bangalore-Mysore Highway on Thursday morning.

G. Ramesh (21) of Sriramapura and K. Prasanna Kumar (21) of Malleswaram were part of a six-member group heading towards Shivanasamudra. The Channapatna rural police are yet to ascertain who among the two was the rider.

Sandhya (19), an MBA student of East Point College near Hoskote, died when a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus hit her mother’s moped which she was riding on Thursday morning.

The victim’s mother, Geetha, was on the pillion. around 9 a.m. near Bhattarahalli in Hoskote police limits.

The bus driver fled.

Knocked down

A 70-year-old man died when a vehicle knocked him down near Metro Cash and Carry in Malleswaram traffic police station limits Wednesday morning.

The driver ran away, the police said.

Passenger run over

S. Sarkar (38), who was travelling on the footboard of a BMTC bus, was run over near Hope Farm on Kadugodi Main Road on Wednesday evening.

Mr. Sarkar lost his balance and fell when the bus driver applied brakes and he came under the rear wheels, the Whitefield traffic police said.

Pedestrian dies

On Wednesday evening, Thimmakka (70), a resident of Whitefield, died on the spot when a motorcycle hit her while she was attempting to cross the road. The rider fled.
