The ongoing silk expo by the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) at the IMA Hall here has evoked a good response.

In order to attract more customers, the KSIC had introduced about 15 new designs.

More than 1,000 varieties and patterns of saris are on display at the exhibition, which will conclude on February 20. The price of saris ranges between Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 2.5 lakh. Stating that last year, the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation had earned a net profit of Rs. 8 crore, its Managing Director P.M. Chandrashekhar claimed that in the current fiscal, the profit had already crossed Rs. 12 crore.

Rebate

At the expo, the KSIC is offering 25 per cent rebate on purchase of three saris, and 15 per cent on purchase of a single sari.
