GULBARGA: The Central Sahitya Akademi and the Karnataka Urdu Academy will organise a two-day programme highlighting the rich Sufi culture and literature in Gulbarga and Bidar from Monday.

Member of the Karnataka Urdu Academy Syed Rauf Quadri said on Sunday that the programme would highlight the mystique of Sufi poems of Nooruddin Noorani, popularly known as Shaikhul Alam Nandrushi, and Allama Iqbal and other poets.

Host

The Hussain Residential Public School in Gulbarga and the Guru Nank Jheera Saheb Foundation of Bidar would host the two-day programme.

Renowned artistes Imtiyaz Ahmed, Shabeer Ahmed, Fayaz Ahmed Khan, Feroz Ahmed, Asand Ullah, Gousia Rahi, Maimoona Zora, Jameela Meer, Shabeena Aftab Fouzia Ameen, Nasara Akhtar, Humaira Moghal, Taher Rasool, tariq Ahmed Syed Mubashir, Manzoor Ahmed Sufi Sawood and Shaikh Muddasir would perform, Mr. Quadri said.

Hyderabad-Karnataka Development Board Secretary Shalini Rajneesh Goel would inaugurate the programme here on Monday.

The former Chief Secretary Chiranjeevi Singh would inaugurate it in Bidar on Tuesday, he said.
