She took charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Mysore on Thursday

C. Shikha is back as the Deputy Commissioner of Mysore. She took charge from Rame Gowda who has been transferred to the Department of Water Resources (Minor Irrigation) as the Executive Director.

Ms. Shikha was earlier the MD of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) and had a brief stint as the Deputy Commissioner of Mysore during the elections.

Soon after taking charge, she said she would give priority to shore up infrastructure and civic amenities. Urban development will have special focus and all outstanding projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) will be implemented and put on a fast track. “The heritage conservation will also draw my attention as it is an important issue,” she added.

On the preparations for Dasara, the Deputy Commissioner said she will check as to what has been done so far and what more needs to be done. “Dasara preparations are done systematically,” she added.
