MLA visits site of demolitions

HASSAN: Hassan MLA H.S. Prakash visited Devikere area here on Wednesday. More than 150 shops in the area had been demolished by the district administration on May 1 and 2.

Most of them had reportedly put up stalls illegally by encroaching upon land belonging to the Muzrai Department here. Shopkeepers and business owners whose property was demolished, appealed to the Mr. Prakash to ensure that they get alternative sites so they could continue their trade.

Mr. Prakash heard their plea and assured them that he would discuss the matter with the Deputy Commissioner.
