Governor's recommendation defended
Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Revanna has said that the statement made by Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar that most of the BJP leaders were also in favour of ousting B.S. Yeddyurappa as Chief Minister is true.
Mr. Revanna told presspersons here on Friday that “60 per cent of the BJP leaders are for the ouster of Mr. Yeddyurappa from chief ministership. Mr. Shivakumar's statement is correct,” he said. Mr. Shivakumar's statement had attracted severe criticism from the BJP leaders.
Mr. Revanna said that Mr. Yeddyurappa had lost moral right to continue in the post. The Governor was right in his recommendation. “Mr. Yeddyurappa should have not continued in the post after the Supreme Court gave its ruling against the Speaker's decision to disqualify 16 MLAs. The Union Government should act upon the Governor's report and dismiss the Government,” he said.
Support to Congress
He said that his party would support the Congress in its efforts to bring pressure on the Union Government for the dismissal of the BJP Government.
