The former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has ridiculed the State government’s move to present the budget.

Addressing a Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) convention at Amminbhavi village here on Wednesday, he said: when he was the Chief Minister, the State stood second in terms of development. But today, it had come down to 11th position, he said.

It would be better if Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar concentrated on streamlining the government. More than 10 lakh beneficiaries in the State were deprived of social security pension schemes. The State was reeling under water and power shortage, he said. Lashing out at Mr. Shettar and former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Mr. Yeddyurappa said they had backstabbed him. He said Mr. Shettar was inaugurating works which were implemented by him.
