Incessant rains in Hubli since the last few days have damaged several houses.
On Sunday, four houses in Durgad Bail and four houses in Dharmadas Chawl partially collapsed.
However, nobody was hurt in the mishap as the residents rushed out of the houses sensing threat.
Hubli tahsildar V.B. Fernandez told The Hindu that so far 50 houses in Hubli taluk, including those in the Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation area, had partially collapsed.
He said that fortunately, there were no casualties and there was no loss of livestock. Following rains, a part of the Mouneshwar Temple near Janata Bazar in Hubli has also collapsed.
Mr. Fernandez said the taluk administration was in the process of surveying the houses, estimating the loss and preparing to seek funds for the relief.
Meanwhile, MLA Prasad Abbayya visited several damaged houses in Kariyammanagar, Gangadhar Nagar, Kumbar Oni, Walwekar Hakkal, Krishnapur Oni, Ayodhyanagar, Nekarnagar, and other localities.

He assured the residents that relief would be provided at the earliest.
