It is the first institution to obtain certification for training in sericulture

The institute organises training courses covering different aspects of sericulture, especially in the cocoon sectorAlso conducts human resource development programmes for target groups

MYSORE: The Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute (CSRTI) has been given ISO 9001: 2000 for quality management system in design, development and conduct of training courses related to sericulture. CSRTI is first institution in the country to obtain certification for providing training in sericulture.

The certificate will be presented to CSRTI on July 7 during the Reshme Krishi Mela, in which Union Minister for Planning M.V. Rajashekaran, Minister for Sericulture C. Chennigappa and Chairman of Central Silk Board, H. Hanumanthappa are expected to participate, a release said.
