Home Minister T.J. George has said senior party workers are being identified for appointment to various boards and corporations. A list will be prepared soon, he said.

Addressing Congress workers here on Tuesday, Mr. George said the party leadership was keen on accommodating its workers in boards and corporations in recognition of their service and contribution to the party.

‘Litmus test’

The Congress, which won the byelections to one Legislative Assembly seat and two Lok Sabha seats after coming to power in the State, would face a litmus test in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

“We should prove the popularity of our government in the State by winning maximum number of Lok Sabha seats. Party workers should strive to achieve this,” the Minister said.

Congress legislators G. Ramakrishna and Priyank Kharge and president of the Gulbarga District Congress Committee Bagangouda Patil were present.
