International cricketer Sonia Dabir, presently settled at Belgaum, has been selected to represent the Karnataka women’s cricket team, which will participate in the forthcoming All India Inter-State Cricket Tournament organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India at Delhi. Sonia has represented India in four international matches earlier.

According to a release issued by Milind Bhatkande, secretary of Bhatkande Sports Academy here on Monday, Ms. Dabir is presently working as a Physical Instructor at Gajananrao Bhatkande Pre-University College. She had been among 25 probables who participated in the selection camp held at Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore, where she registered an impressive performance. Karnataka will play against Vidarbha, Saurashtra, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal in the league-cum-knock out tournament.

Ms. Dabir earlier played for Maharashtra.
