Police personnel take out route march in Hubli

HUBLI: The Hubli police organised a route march here on Monday as part of confidence building measures in the wake of “Ranga Panchami” to be celebrated on Tuesday.

The route march began from the City Armed Reserve Ground on Karward Road and passed through New English School, Kamaripet, Jai Bharat Circle, Tulaja Bhavani Circle, Durgadabail, Maratha Galli, and Dajibanpet.

Police Commissioner Narayan Nadamani and Deputy Commissioner of Police D. Prakash led the route march. Untimely showers caused inconvenience to the police personnel.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the Tuesday’s Holi procession and celebrations. Barricades have been put up in sensitive areas in the city, especially the roads leading to Dakappa Circle, where the torching of “Kamanna” will take place.

There will be traffic curbs in the city on Tuesday till the Holi celebrations conclude.
